Wine Spectator features Finca Decero in their recent publication “A World of Possibility: New World Regions Abound with Values – Not Always from the Grapes You Expect.” The piece features several New World producers that have all crafted stunning wines from powerhouse grape varieties, some familiar and some unfamiliar to average consumers.
Special attention is given to New World reds that exhibit exceptional balance, elegance, and polish. Finca Decero is twice featured in this category for the estate’s Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 – top New World Cabernet – and Malbec 2017 – #2 New World Malbec .
The Cabernet Sauvignon received 91 points and is reviewed as “Full of zesty acidity behind its dark plum, blackberry and dark currant flavors, this red is big and rich, showing chocolate nib notes mid palate, with creamy accents filling the pure and fruity finish.” The Malbec received 92 points and is reviewed as “A rich red, with a plush array of dark plum and cherry tart flavors that are creamy and richly spiced. The open-textured finish shows plenty of savoriness, accented by dark chocolate hints.”
